A Charity Leading in Innovation in Mental Health
St Andrew's is the UK's largest not-for-profit mental health care charity.
We offer specialist services for men, women, adolescents and older people across:
Mental Health Care
Learning Disability
Acquired Brain Injury
Progressive and Neurodegenerative Conditions
By putting our service users' needs at the heart of everything that we do, we have built a culture encouraging innovative practices, leading clinical expertise and forward-thinking attitudes. Through this, St Andrew’s is fast-becoming a national centre of excellence.
Reinvesting surpluses
Unlike traditional providers, we have no shareholders, and as a charity we are in the unique position to reinvest our surpluses into identifying cutting-edge, world-class specialist services, highly qualified and dedicated staff and state-of-the-art facilities. This allows us to offer regionally-centred care that directly responds to service users’ needs, invest in ground-breaking research projects for the benefit of the mental health industry as a whole, and provide valid, accountable outcome data to show our successes.
Expanding our Services
St Andrew’s largest range of services is located at its main site in Northampton. Situated across 106 acres of parkland and with excellent therapeutic and recreational facilities, St Andrew’s offers service users effective, tailored treatment set amongst state-of-the-art environments. We have additional sites offering regional access to care in Essex and Birmingham (opening March 2009) and approval has been received for our newest site in Mansfield.
We pride ourselves on offering an extensive variety of care pathways, through medium to low secure and predischarge services. We also offer more specialist treatments than ever before including Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and Huntington’s Disease. Our National Brain Injury Centre is recognised as the National Centre of Excellence and is celebrating it's 30th anniversary in 2009.
We employ over 2500 staff, who are passionate about preserving the humanity, diversity and creativity of every patient, carer, healthcare worker and visitor, which is why we are accredited with Investors in People. Our reputation with the NHS is unrivalled, and we work closely with our partners as a trusted preferred provider.
