Recreation
We understand the impact that physical and recreational activities contribute towards the rehabilitation and care for mental illness, developmental disabilities, learning disabilities and acquired brain injury.
The unit provides the highest standard of physical and recreational activities within the service users' programme and we have excellent facilities to support this. Appropriate risk assessments will take place prior to any approved activities.
In addition, staff and families are encouraged to make use of the fantastic facilities within the Gloucester House sports complex (within certain time periods).
The physical and recreation team work closely with all services across the charity to develop therapeutic programmes and care plans that promote physical wellbeing and healthy lifestyles. Our unit consists of highly-qualified instructors who retain a wide range of skills, knowledge and experience. Through collaborative working, we determine what specific combination of recreational activities will provide the best results and increase the standard of living for our service users.
