Speaking up

St Andrew's Healthcare aims to meet the needs of all our service users in a caring and professional way. Each resident has a named nurse that they can report any complaints to, which will be dealt with accordingly. If they feel they cannot do this, we offer an advocacy service to every person who resides with us, which we have entitled 'Speaking Up'. All advocates are independent and will assist with raising concerns if the resident feels they cannot do so in person.

We have set up a dedicated 'Speaking Up' hotline for residents: 01604 616552.

Additionally, we have a dedicated Complaints Manager who is available to help service users make any complaint if they wish, which includes communication with the Mental Health Act Commission if they are detained.

If a service user is still disatisfield, they are welcome to express their concerns to the Healthcare Commission.

If a resident is detained under the Mental Health Act (1983), we ensure they are fully informed of their rights when admitted. We have a bank of Mental Health lawyers available if an individual requests.
