Obtaining a consultant job is the crucial priority at the end of psychiatric training. Making the right choices and preparing properly for consultant interviews is important.
Preparing for interviews can be a stressful process and this course aims to help you successfully navigate your interviews for consultant jobs.
This course will provide:
- practical expertise and advice about how to secure a consultant post
- key facts about a range of potential interview topics
- discussion of common interview scenarios and questions
- an opportunity to be asked questions by experienced medical and non-medical interviewers and receive immediate feedback on your performance
This course is aimed at higher trainees in psychiatry nearing the end of their clinical training and preparing for the next step in their career progression to consultant.
The speakers are recently appointed consultants and experienced senior clinicians and managers from St Andrew’s Healthcare and other organisations. They will be able to share their wisdom from recently being interviewed for consultant posts and regularly interviewing candidates for these positions.
