We recognise that having easy access to quality mental healthcare services closer to home plays a vital role in recovery. St Andrew’s Nottinghamshire provides a unique combination of services responding directly to the needs of individuals from the East Midlands and surrounding areas.
Our purpose-built facility provides specialist secure services and comprehensive care pathways for 70 adult male service users diagnosed with Learning Disabilities and Autistic Spectrum Disorders. By putting our service users’ needs at the heart of everything we do, we have built a culture encouraging innovative practices, leading clinical expertise and forward-thinking attitudes. This ensures we deliver the highest quality of treatment, consistently producing the best possible outcomes for our service users.
Learning Disability
Service users include those with mild/borderline learning disabilities and those who present reactions to trauma and social deprivation. There may also be a past history of offending and challenging behaviour and a mental illness or personality disorder may be present.
The Learning Disability care pathway consists of two security levels:
• Medium secure - 17-bed unit
• Low secure - 18 bed unit.
Autistic Spectrum Disorders
Service users include those with a diagnosis of Higher Functioning Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome, either established or suspected. They may also have additional mental health needs, and a history of offending or challenging behaviour.
The Autistic Spectrum Disorders care pathway consists of two security levels:
• Medium secure - 17-bed unit
• Low secure - 18-bed unit.
