 |  All qualified clinical staff work to their own respective "Professional Standards of Practice" and "Code of Conduct".
 The service endorses and implements an IPR programme for all staff.
 All qualified staff are encouraged to take advantage of a full training and development programme and to meet their professional requirements for Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and PREP (for nursing).
 Staff have access to a very comprehensive medical library as well as an on-site training resource centre. A generous training budget is available to ensure that staff can obtain necessary qualifications and skills.
 All staff, on starting at St Andrew's Healthcare, undertake a comprehensive induction programme to appropriately prepare them for their working environments.
 All staff are offered a Safe Patient Restraint training course and receive regular annual refresher training in addition.
 Unqualified staff are encouraged to take advantage of the NVQ Curriculum and a number of unqualified nursing staff receive bursaries each year to enable them to complete their professional training.
 Staff are involved in a full clinical audit programme.
 All clinical staff are Police checked before commencing employment.
 St Andrew's Healthcare has been awared the Health Quality Services Award and is presently working towards the Investors in People award.
 Staff are encouraged to undertake research projects, and particular emphasis is now put on work which will provide evidence based practice.
 The service is currently working on the development of Clinical Pathways as part of Clinical Governance.
 St Andrew's Healthcare works to an agenda for quality improvement which has included: - the reorganisation of the clinical notes - the Clinical Procedures Manual etc.
The Hospital has a Risk Management Group, which is supported by the Divisional Management Teams, whose task is to regularly monitor levels of accidents, incidents, injuries, complaints and sickness.
