Our Facilities for the Huntington's Disease Service

  • Secure Unit with 11 beds

Situated on the Northampton site, the Harper Unit is located on the ground floor with direct access to its own secure and picturesque garden and set amongst 106 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and 19th century buildings.  Harper is an eleven bedded, low secure facility.

The unit has bright, spacious, accessible accommodation with fit-for-purpose furniture and equipment and personal washing facilities for all service users. A variety of activities is available with easy access to the local town centre on foot, or a short bus or car ride as well as the following provided on site; gymnasium, swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sheltered workshops, library, activities centre, cafe, and golf course.

Our chaplaincy service offers spiritual support, and holds regular services for service users. A multi-faith prayer room is also available 24 hours per day for personal reflection and prayer. Spiritual aspects of end of life issues are considered at the request of service users, as part of end of life care.
