Accommodation

Each service user has their own bedroom and each unit contains communal areas for service users to socialise with each other.

Standard bedroom layouts include*:

  • Wardrobe
  • Low-level lockable storage facility
  • Bed
  • Built-in work table with light, power and TV/FM radio point
  • Overhead bedlight

*this may vary depending on risk assessment.

They may also have en-suite facilities. Where this is not available, shared bathrooms are divided into male and female use.

Visitors

All visitors to St Andrew’s are arranged by the unit’s specific social workers.

Service users' children and siblings are welcome to visit. Children must always be with an adult when visiting.

For those wishing to keep in touch with friends and family outside of the unit, staff are happy to help with writing letters and arranging telephone calls where appropriate.

Translation service

There is a specialist translation service available at St Andrew’s Healthcare. The CPA coordinator will have more information on this.

Advocacy

All of our units provide telephone access to advocacy or solicitor services. Every service user has the right to seek advocacy if they wish to do so. For more information click here.

Dining

We have a wide variety of appetising meals available. St Andrew’s Healthcare is currently undergoing a food initiative to source as much food organically and locally as possible. In many cases, food is also prepared in kitchens on-site to get to service users as quickly and freshly as possible.

All menus take into account dietary needs and respect cultural and religious requirements.
