Dr Caroline Knight

Caroline is a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist and Clinical Lead at St Andrew’s Healthcare, firstly at the National Brain Injury Centre and most recently within our services for older people and adults with progressive neurological conditions and Huntington’s disease. Actively involved in research for over a decade, Caroline has specifically helped to develop psychometric assessment tools including co-authoring the Overt Aggression Scale-Modified for Neurorehabilitation.

Professor Nick Alderman

Professor Alderman is Associate Director of Neurobehavioural Rehabilitation and Research, Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist and Specialty Lead at the National Brain Injury Centre at St Andrew’s Healthcare. A visiting Professor of Applied Clinical Neuropsychology at Newman University College, Birmingham, Nick was awarded a Fellowship of the British Psychological Society in 2002 for his unique contribution to neurobehavioural rehabilitation. He has helped to author over 40 journal papers and book chapters, and is a contributor towards BADS, a well-known published test of executive functioning.

Chrissie Johnson

Chrissie is currently a Trainee Clinical Psychologist at the University of Edinburgh, specialising in Severe and Enduring Mental Illness. Her clinical background includes Assistant Psychologist roles in a Community Learning Disability team in NHS Lothian, and in the Townsend unit of St Andrew’s Healthcare, Northampton, supporting adults and older people with progressive neurological conditions and Huntington’s disease with neurogenerative diseases and challenging behaviour. In addition to SASBA, her other research interests have included the use of recording tools for frequent aggressive behaviour in people with neurological problems.

Dr Sharon Green

Dr Sharon Green

Dr Green is a Senior Clinical Neuropsychologist. During her time at The National Brain Injury Centre, she helped to develop the first female-only neurobehavioural rehabilitation service in the UK. Dr Green is current living in Christchurch, New Zealand, where she is working for Insight ltd, providing specialist assessment and rehabilitation for people living in the community with acquired brain injury and other neurological conditions (including neurotoxicity).

Dr Louise Birkett-Swan

Dr Birkett-Swan is a Clinical Psychologist at the National Brain Injury Centre. She has worked with adults with acquired brain injury for several years and has been involved in a number of research projects throughout this time. Following the implementation of the SASBA Scale within the National Brain Injury Centre, Dr Birkett-Swan has an interest in further examination of the prevalence and incidence of inappropriate sexual behaviour following acquired brain injury, along with the impact this has on carers.

Dr Graeme Yorston

Dr Graeme Yorston

Dr Yorston is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Clinical Lead for St Andrew’s services for older people. For the past 11 years, he has been involved in research of the clinical care of older adults and those with neuro-psychiatric conditions who have committed serious offences or present serious challenging behaviour. He is author or co-author of over 30 published papers and a frequent presenter at national and international conferences.
