About Our Services for Men

St Andrew’s Healthcare’s Northampton and Essex sites have facilities which cater for adult men from 18 to 70 years of age who have mental health problems or learning disabilities and who require the provision of secure services.

Our new facility opened in Birmingham in February and offers a variety of services to men. For more information, click here

We offer accommodation for men who present with challenging behaviour and may have complex needs. Many of our service users have offending histories.

We provide tailored care pathways which cater for mental health disorders, learning disabilities and Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) amongst superb facilities with dedicated resources. Comprehensive rehabilitation programmes help to ensure that service users receive the social, psychological and physical skills that they need to function safely and comfortably within the community. For those requiring longer-term care, our respected and trusted approach provides a variety of secure facilities, so men can move through the care pathway within the same environment.

All service users are provided with their own bedrooms and spacious living areas. All have access to sporting and leisure activities that aim to encourage positive contributions towards rehabilitation. Using some of the country’s best clinicians, a comprehensive risk assessment and rehabilitation programme is put in place which, supported by ongoing research, is regularly improved and refined to respond to increasingly complex requirements and behaviours.

Our men’s services will continue to grow in the coming years, with plans for a dedicated deaf service and a new 128-bed development at our main site in Northampton, Cliftonville, over the coming years.
