Treatment Philosophy

Each care pathway is carefully tailored towards individual needs and circumstances. A full assessment by our multi-disciplinary team is conducted upon admission. We evaluate neurobehavioural, emotional cognitive and physical needs to determine which pathway is most suitable.
Presenting problems can include:

• physical aggression
• inappropriate social behaviour
• risk of self-harm
• emotional problems
• cognitive problems
• other related physical problems

Our staff are experts in identifying and understanding the effects created by brain injury, coupled with the resources to assist, educate and facilitate patients in their rehabilitation towards an agreed optimal level of independence.

Our staff work across a trans-disciplinary framework, encompassing a holistic approach to treatment across all disciplines and care is available 24 hours a day to service users.

Our broad treatment aims include:

• helping patients improve behavioural control
• helping patients improve functional skills

Specific targets may include:

• increasing attention and concentration
• promoting communication skills
• heightening self-awareness, personal care and appearance
