Lead Social Worker
Sandra is Lead Social Worker for our Adolescent Services, and her clinical work is specialising on the female Mental Health care pathway. She has been instrumental in developing the Social Work team across the Adolescent service and has actively promoted the use of technologies at St Andrew’s to enable family contact when face to face contact is impossible or difficult to plan. As a Practice Mentor Assessor, Sandra also supports the professional development of qualified Social Workers both in the organisation, and in the Local Authority, undertaking their Post Qualifying Social Work (PSQW) modules.
Having qualified as a Social Worker in 1983, Sandra has gained extensive experience in a range of Northamptonshire Local Authority Social Work. This has included a Principal Social Work Post specialising in Child Sexual Abuse cases, individual and group therapy; Community CAMHS and as an Approved Social Worker (prior to AMHP status) in an Adult Community Mental Health team.
A Registered Member of the General Social Care Council, Sandra is also the Social Work Member of the Advisory Group of the Royal College of Psychiatry Quality Network of Inpatients CAMHS, QNIC, as well as being part of the Safeguarding Children, and Mental Health Law Steering Groups.
