Admissions for Women

We accept women between 18 and 70 years of age, subject to assessment who have originated from the NHS acute, rehabilitation or forensic services, or from other independent providers, special hospitals, courts or prisons.

We accept those detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) or Criminal Procedure Act (1991). It is most likely that service users accepted will have complex symptoms and co-morbidity that is best understood within a developmental multi-axial diagnostic framework.

Referrals can be made via our Admissions Office 0800 434 6690 or referral froms can be downloaded. We will acknowledge receipt within seven days.

A multi-disciplinary team is provided with several pre-admission templates, from which their initial assessment is made. These include:

  • St Andrew’s Healthcare service admission document
  • Multi-disciplinary care plan
  • Risk assessment
  • HoNOS
  • Social and personal history
  • Medication/medical history
  • Physical health
  • Forensic history

Upon admission, a 16-week multi-disciplinary assessment will form the core component of planning the care pathway. This identifies service user needs and establishes specific individual assessment criteria, which includes interventions and anticipated outcomes. Core assessments involve:

  •   Psychiatry
  •   Nursing
  •   Psychology
  •   Occupational Therapy
  •   Social Work
  •   Education
  •   Speech and Language Therapy
  •   Basic health check list
