Our psychology teams plays a key role in service delivery and development, with research being a key activity with academic publications and presentations at national and international conferences.

The Northampton site hosts services that include: Learning Disability; Autism; Medium Secure Forensics including our Deaf Service; Acquired Brain Injury; Dementia and Huntington’s Disease; Low Secure and Specialist Rehabilitation (including PICU); CAMHS and Community Partnerships, as well as our Academic and Research and Innovation Centres, offering great opportunities to broaden and develop your skills in the future. 

A bit more about the role

The successful applicants will join a large psychology team. Duties are varied and will include assisting Qualified Psychologists in psychological and behavioural assessments of patient needs, offering group and individual therapy sessions based on a variety of models, maintaining research databases, carrying out clinical audits, delivering staff training.

A bit more about you 

You should have a minimum of an upper second class honours degree in psychology and be eligible for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society. If you bring either previous experience of working within a multidisciplinary team in a clinical setting or a relevant post graduate qualification your application is very welcome. 

You should be very competent in computer skills, research methods, have high levels of literacy and numeracy, and have great interpersonal and communication skills. Previous experience and interest in working within similar patient groups is advantageous, but not essential.
