Clinical Nurse Leader- Harper Ward - Dementia and HD IPU

 

Neuropsychiatry Pathway

Salary: £27,069 - £36,647  (plus £1641 clinical allowance) dependent on experience
Working pattern:  Days

 

Harper ward is an 11 bedded ward for older adult females, with a diagnosis of a progressive neurological condition, including Huntingdon’s or Dementia. Opportunities are wide and varied, where you will be able to develop your physical health knowledge and skills, whilst working within legal frameworks of the Mental Health Act and DOLS.

As a Clinical Nurse Leader within our Dementia and HD pathway, you will be the most senior nurse on the ward with full responsibility and accountability for the clinical operations of the ward.  You will be responsible for the assessment and delivery of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care without supervision. 

Working as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team, you will direct the nursing team on their ward, monitor their performance, and take action where necessary to improve practice in conjunction with the Advanced Nurse Practitioner. You will achieve this through visible leadership, ensuring a high profile and presence on the ward. Substantial experience of working in mental health or dementia/huntingdon services is required. Experience of working with patients in a locked secure environment is preferred
