An opportunity has arisen for Clinical Nurse Leader in the Learning Disabilities Service – Northampton.  

Are you an experienced mental health or learning disability nurse with exceptional leadership abilities and passionate about supporting adults with a learning disability?

We have a Clinical Nurse Leader vacancy suited to a nurse that delivers exceptional clinical leadership, a passion for continued improvement and service development and teamwork.

The LD IPU provides specialist supports to people in a range of secure environments in the least restrictive way possible.  We are working in a compassionate and caring culture and we are looking for someone who can support this culture and drive change forward as a clinical nurse leader. You will be the senior nurse on shift and will be a strong role model who consistently demonstrates innovative ways of thinking and has a strong record of successful service improvement activities.

The role of Clinical Nurse Leader

You’ll be the most senior nurse on the ward, maintaining a high profile and visible presence, whilst working as part of the multi-disciplinary team. You’ll lead the nursing shift team, driving the clinical model and contribute to improvements in practice, in conjunction with the Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

Put your leadership skills to the test, leading nursing teams on ward shifts and helping to provide world class mental health services. You’ll also have lots of support to continue your professional development and training and to progress your career.

What you will need for this role

Substantial experience supporting people with a learning disability.  High level leadership skills, ability to maintain motivation and to motivate others, excellent communication and people management skills are also key.
