St Andrew’s Healthcare is a charity with an excellent and well-deserved reputation as a provider of specialist mental healthcare. We transform the lives of people with the greatest mental health needs. Throughout our 180 year history we have helped some of society’s most vulnerable people and today we proudly continue to build world-class mental healthcare services. Our commitment to holistic care, safety, recovery and innovative therapies and treatment makes St Andrew’s the perfect place to take your career to a new level.
The Northampton Low Secure and Locked Integrated Practice Unit (IPU) consists of four wards comprising of two ten-bedded male low secure wards and two male locked rehabilitation wards. The low secure wards are separated by level of functioning.
The locked rehabilitation wards are differentiated by age range of patients. One ward is for working age males. The other is for older males, many of whom suffer with cognitive disorders and co-morbid physical health conditions. There is a full multidisciplinary team on each ward contributing to an individualised treatment package for the patients. This role advertised is for Foster Ward, the older adult male locked rehabilitation ward.
The IPU offers an excellent opportunity to deliver value-based healthcare focusing on clinical outcomes. The IPU is focusing on using clinically relevant outcomes that will support the recovery and progress of patients to less restrictive environments in line with improvements in their mental health and reductions in their risk. One of the main functions of the IPU’s is to give more autonomy to staff to make decisions that will help improve patient outcomes. As such we are looking for people who have new ideas and who want a role where they have more autonomy to make a real difference to patient care.
The successful candidate will lead a full MDT and help shape services further through strategic decision-making and improvement projects. You will also be able to undertake research projects as part of St Andrew's commitment to innovation and world-class care.
This post is being advertised as a full time role however we would consider flexible or part time working arrangements.
Applicants must have MRCPsych or equivalent and hold a CCT in Forensic Psychiatry, General Adult Psychiatry or Older Adult Psychiatry.
