Consultant Psychiatrist - CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Disorders
Full time 37.5 hours a week

As part of that programme we have established 15 Integrated Practice Units (IPU’s) which will focus on improving patient outcomes.
The CAMHS Developmental Disorders IPU in Northampton have an exciting opportunity to develop and strengthen your experience working with patients in secure care settings. This post offers a rare opportunity to provide Responsible Clinician support for children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders, complex mental health conditions and significant risk in a national medium secure service. This is a rewarding post with an excellent multidisciplinary team, and a forward-thinking and holistic approach is taken to patient care and treatment in the IPU. Care is delivered in an excellent purpose built, well-resourced environment (Fitzroy House).
You will lead a multi-disciplinary team and oversee the management of children and young people with neurodevelopmental disability and complex mental disorders. You will be able to promote innovation and improvement of services and there will also be a strong research and teaching element to the role. Alongside their clinical responsibility, the post-holder will be able to undertake non-clinical activities of interest such as career development and the opportunity for further study.
With scope to develop your specialist interests and grow your remit and responsibilities, we will actively encourage you to be a leader nationally in mental health and influence the future direction of services.
You will have MRCPsych or equivalent, and a CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or a CCT in Learning Disability, Forensic Psychiatry or General Adult Psychiatry with significant experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
