ASD & LD Pathway

Northampton

St Andrew’s Northampton is the ideal place to develop your career. Our expert teams offer a range of comprehensive, specialist care for adult male service users who have been diagnosed with either LD &/or Autistic Spectrum Disorders with often complex behavioural and cognitive needs. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team made up of healthcare assistants, nurses, psychologists and occupational therapists, speech & language and physiotherapists.

We are interested to hear from Occupational Therapists who have knowledge of OT assessment, treatment focused interventions and of outcome measures along with some experience of individual and group interventions.  Therapists with an interest in Sensory Integration would be encouraged to apply. If you are enthusiastic, committed to driving forward evidence based practice in the development and delivery of value based care within a secure environment this could be the post for you.

You will have opportunity to undertake a comprehensive OT induction package, as well as a full preceptorship programme through your first 12 months including monthly clinical supervision from a registered OT.  Continued professional development is encouraged, with access to a range of in-house CPD events, as well as an expectation to support the development and training of OT students.  Further opportunities include networking opportunities with colleagues of the same and different grades within the service and wider Charity.  This affords opportunities offering an extensive grounding for your development as a dynamic and innovative Occupational Therapy practitioner.

You will also need a flexible approach to working hours, be able to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills and exhibit attitudes and behaviours reflective of St Andrew’s vision and values.  The successful candidates will have a professional OT qualification and be registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).  Applications are welcomed from well-motivated individuals who are able to demonstrate initiative and flexibility.
