  • Full-time 37.5 hours per week

 

The Men’s Mental Health Low Secure and Locked IPU is an integral part of St Andrews, one of the country’s leading providers of mental health services. We have a long history of successfully providing high quality treatment and care for both mental health and forensic needs. We currently have a vacancy for a full-time Senior Assistant Psychologist. 

 

The successful candidate will be an experienced Assistant Psychologist who has a qualification in a psychological therapy such as CBT. The successful applicant will also be provided with the opportunity to develop their skills within the role, helping to progress them towards becoming a Psychological Therapist or towards a Doctorate programme.

 

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and motivated psychology graduate, eligible for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society with excellent organisational and communication skills. Experience of undertaking assessments, knowledge of SPSS, Word and Excel is essential. Previous experience of working as an Assistant Psychologist with the above population or within forensic services would be an advantage.

 

You will join friendly colleagues from all disciplines, committed to developing the highest standards of care. Within the IPU, you would become part of a psychology team comprising of two qualified Psychologists and two Assistant Psychologists. We also have a close working relationship with the psychology teams in other IPU’s. You will have the opportunity to contribute your ideas to help the services become truly patient-centred and evidence based. You will receive training and supervision, and be encouraged to participate in research.
