Senior Healthcare Assistant – Seacole, Women’s Mental Health


Salary: From £18,325 Per Annum

Hours:   37.5  

In this role you will be the most Senior Healthcare Assistant on the ward, supporting qualified nurses and MDT to deliver exceptional care to our patients. You will take a lead in mentoring junior HCA’s. Knowledge and experience of working with this patient group would be an advantage as you will be a role model to your team, demonstrating a flexible, individual and person centred approach. Safety and therapeutic engagement is the key components of our care delivery focus and should be a key demonstrable interest and ability required for this role.


Seacole is a specialist Personality Disorder ward within the Women's Mental Health Pathway, based in Smyth House building of St Andrew’s’ Northampton site. It offers treatment for women with a primary diagnosis of personality disorder for 15 women within a medium secure setting. The Seacole Ward team aims to provide a high quality service offering assessment, treatment, care and security for women who present with Personality Disorder difficulties.  The treatment philosophy is of a consistent approach, boundaries, building levels of skill in managing distress.  Ensuring there is individual care planning and least restrictive practice.  We assess psychological treatment needs individually.
