Hours: 37.5 – Full time

The Learning Disability IPU

As an IPU we are looking for experienced Health Care Assistants to join our team on Spencer North Ward, working with women who have a learning disability and complex mental health problems, in in-patient settings. We work in the least restrictive way to support positive outcomes for our patients as individuals.

Your role 

As a senior Health Care Assistant, you will provide support that positively impacts the health and wellbeing of service users within the Learning Disability IPU. You will be a highly visible and important front line member of staff within an established team of professionals including: Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Responsible Clinician and Social Workers. Throughout the service user’s journey, you will provide a high standard of care, working in line with the individuals treatment programme.

In addition to this you will support and mentor other HCA’s and be aligned to additional areas of practice as champions or representatives. You will play a key role in designated areas to support and improve practice on the wards.
