Senior Project Manager

Location: Northampton

Salary: up to £60,000 (dependent on experience)

Hours:  Full time 37.5 hours per week

12 month fixed term contract

Your role with us

Working as part of our Continuous Improvement & Transformation team, you will build a best in class project management capability, delivering business change  and business orientated technology aligned with our charitable objectives.

This role is based at our Northampton site but occasional visits to other St Andrew’s sites may be required.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Managing the end to end delivery of projects to ensure their successful completion
  • Managing relationships with internal and external parties involved in project delivery
  • Working closely with colleagues throughout the Charity and in the Business Change Team to ensure clear project definition and to define and agree project approach, plans and schedules
  • To work closely with colleagues throughout the Charity and in the Business Change Team and to ensure that projects are delivered to meet requirements and are within cost and time constraints
  • To manage project risks, issues and dependencies effectively
  • To undertake the management of project budgets, including cost forecasting reconciliation
  • Managing project governance processes on behalf of sponsors
  • Maintaining full project records and undertake project reporting according to the Charity’s governance processes
  • Coaching and mentoring junior members of the Project Management team to help them progress and develop in their role
  • Ensuring that you follow St Andrew's adopted practices and processes

Your profile

To be successful in your application for the Senior Project manager position you will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of delivering business change and IT projects on an end to end basis in highly challenging environments.

You will be a genuine change agent who works beyond your project plans and methodology to win over the hearts and minds of your stakeholders and customers to both implement and embed change.

You will also:

  • Be meticulous in your approach to record keeping
  • Have strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Be emotionally intelligent with the ability to use innovative and creative methods in order to build productive relationships with all stakeholders
  • Demonstrate a high attention to detail and the ability to implement and embed best practice within teams
  • Hold a formal project management qualification
