Social Worker - Women's Low Secure & Locked

The Women’s Low Secure and Locked Integrated Practice Unit (IPU) caters for patients with personality disorder, mental illness and a history of challenging behaviour.

We offer services that are specially designed for women over the age of 18 with Mental Health, Personality Disorders and challenging behaviour. The IPU provides low secure, locked and open units and are aligned for Personality Disorder, Psychosis and related illnesses and rehabilitation.

Your role with us  

The work offers the opportunity to see complex patients through to successful discharge. Regular supervision is provided and opportunities for development both in social work and other related practice issues are provided and encouraged. 

You will be registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and there will be opportunities for training to ensure re-registration.   You should be in receipt of the Diploma in Social Work or equivalent and have extensive experience with Mental Health Legislation including the Care Programme Approach.  A good working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, the Mental Capacity Act and the SafeGuarding processes under the Care Act 2014 will be required.

The successful applicant will be a member of the multi-disciplinary team and have good communication and interpersonal skills.  There is an expectation that the post holder will seek to develop their skills in their specialist area. Regular supervision is provided and opportunities for development both in social work and other related practice issues are provided and encouraged. 

The post is open to qualified and newly qualified Social Workers & the salary offered will reflect any post-qualification experience and skills.
