£38,653 - £40,067 + enhancements and excellent benefits

The largest UK medium secure service for deaf men aged between 18 and 65 years old. Fairbairn is a 15 bed ward in purpose-built medium secure service which manages deaf or hearing impaired (profound, severe, partial or hard of hearing) patients’ with complex mental illness in a culturally sensitive environment.

In addition to Fairbairn Ward, the service has links to a Northampton based 24-hour supported accommodation placement for D/deaf men with complex mental health and forensic needs who have been discharged to the community. This role has the opportunity to be involved in this service as well as Fairbairn Ward.

The role of a Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL)

You will be the most senior nurse on the ward, maintaining a high profile and visible presence, whilst working as part of the multi-disciplinary team. You will lead the nursing shift team, driving the clinical model and contribute to improvements in practice.

Put your leadership skills to the test, leading the nursing team and helping to provide world class mental health services. You will also have lots of support to continue your professional development and training and to progress your career.

What you will need for this role

Experience of working in a secure environment is essential. You will have high-level leadership skills, ability to maintain motivation and to motivate others along with excellent communication and people management skills. We are looking for a confident, passionate person who wants to make a positive impact to the lives of the patients we support.
