About us
We are St Andrew's. We are a mental health Charity and our purpose is to inspire hope for those living with complex mental health needs.
We are looking to a future with less stigma, more community support, more research and education, and we aim to be at the forefront of inspiring real change. We want to ensure we can all live in a society where everyone with complex mental health needs is heard, valued and has hope for their future.
Come and join us, and support us to help people transform their lives.
The role
In this exciting new high profile role reporting to our Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will provide strategic leadership on Social Care policy and developments to our Executive team. You will provide a clear steer on models of care in the community from a social care perspective and advise on best practice. Your role will be critical to our Charity Strategy in informing the right community models of care, both in partnership with Social Care and also with Housing providers.
As a champion of social work, you will lead by example, using your skills to encourage a culture of innovation, reflection and learning within the service, using practice evaluations and learning reviews to inform this work.
You will set and monitor Charity-wide standards and best practice for the social work group across the Charity, providing expertise in relation to recruitment, retention, clinical and professional leadership, compliance with regulatory and registration standards, learning and development, and engagement in key organisational initiatives.
About you
You will bring proven senior experience of leadership, practice development and consistent achievement in a social work setting; an understanding of working across health and social care and above all a commitment to people who use, work in and rely on social work services as well as their families and carers. You’ll need exceptional interpersonal skills, a passion for quality and inclusion and the ability to build, manage and develop effective working relationships with people and partners.
Your will have substantial experience as a qualified social worker with clear evidence of supervising and managing others at a strategic level. You will also bring expert knowledge of social care policy and how this applies in a mental health setting.
You will have both the breadth and depth of skills to fulfil the role described above and high levels of resilience to lead and embed change. Our patients, their carers and your colleagues will expect you to live the St Andrew’s CARE values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence every single day.
