General Manager – Community Partnerships / Community Services

Location: Northampton

Having responsibility for a range of community mental health services across the East midlands and East of England  

Career Level C / Expert / Manager

Salary: Co depending on experience

Hours: Full time (37.5 hrs) or Part time (minimum of 4 days / 30 hours per week).

Open to a hybrid model of working, blending home/office and community based work.

The Service

St Andrew’s Healthcare is a national charity with an excellent reputation in supporting individuals with mental health needs. We work in partnership with the NHS, voluntary, educational, criminal justice and research organisations to deliver a range of specialist inpatient and community mental healthcare services, education and research.

Within community partnerships we have built a team of expert clinicians who work with other organisations across the midlands and east of England providing community based mental health services. We have an ambition to grow and develop, and consequently a new opportunity has arisen for a passionate and enthusiastic person to join our team.

The Role

In this exciting new high profile role reporting to the Service Director, you will work closely with our clinical leads and be responsible for the overall management and oversight of these services.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with colleagues ensuring continuous service improvement, in workforce capacity, service performance, operational and financial outcomes
  • Representing your division at internal and external forums, including contract meetings with commissioners.
  • Using your knowledge and ability to help us develop, grow and mobilise new opportunities across a wide geographical footprint.
  • Leading the development of a culture that promotes leadership through a coaching style for improvement
  • Taking accountability and supporting our clinical leads to deliver high quality clinical services.
  • Using and providing highly complex information and data to offer assurance and help in improving the quality of care we provide
  • Recruiting, motivating, training, developing, appraising and retaining staff.
  • Effectively and efficiently managing our financial resources to ensure the delivery of high quality services

About you

You’ll be an experienced, inspiring and compassionate operational leader with significant experience of delivering high performance and results through your people and teams. You will be an excellent communicator with strong influencing and negotiation skills. You will be skilled at presenting and interpreting complex data and be comfortable in decision making and problem solving.

With high levels of personal integrity you will be well experienced in winning hearts and minds and adept at managing effective relationships to a senior level and a strong track record of meeting business targets.

You will bring an enthusiasm, skills and knowledge, along with high levels of resilience to lead and embed significant change as we develop and grow our clinical services.
