Key Responsibilities
- Equipment and Supplies Handling: Deliver and collect medical equipment, and other essential supplies to and from various hospital departments.
- Waste Management: Assist with the collection and disposal of clinical, general, and hazardous waste in accordance with hospital policies and health regulations.
- Cleaning and Maintenance Support: Assist in keeping hospital corridors, Reception areas, back of house and service yard areas clean and along with the general cleaning of any cleaning machinery.
- Communications and Teamwork: Work closely with nursing, security, and other hospital teams to provide efficient service and maintain a safe environment for all.
- Adherence to Infection Control: Follow hospital hygiene and infection prevention policies to minimise risks to patients and staff.
- Other Duties: Carry out additional duties as the Facilities Manager requires deemed necessary to support hospital operations.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Ability to work in a challenging and high-pressure environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, professional, and compassionate approach.
- Physically fit to handle lifting and transporting tasks.
Desirable:
- Experience in a hospital, healthcare, or similar environment.
- Previous experience working in a secure mental health setting.
- Knowledge of handling hazardous waste and environmental protocol.
Working Conditions
- The role will involve physical work, including lifting, carrying and walking all within a secure mental health building setting.
- The shifts will be based on a 37.5 hr working week, covering weekdays and occasional weekend cover, when required.
- PPE and training will be provided to ensure safe working practices are followed at all times
