Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services - CAMHS

We provide low and medium secure Tier 4 CAMHS inpatient care and treatment for boys and girls aged 13 to 18 with complex mental disorders, severe emotional and behavioural difficulties, intellectual disabilities, and mental illness and autistic spectrum disorders.

Our goal is to equip patients with the skills required to live as independently as possible, closer to communities of their choosing.

We are able to treat a wide range of disorders, including the most challenging and complex. Our ethos is to provide person-centered care which addresses young people’s mental health needs as well as their functional, cognitive, emotional, social, communication, sensory and vocational needs.

All treatments and therapeutic interventions are needs-led, individual, and based on the outcomes of a comprehensive and ongoing assessment process for each young person.

Our extensive on-site multi-disciplinary team deliver bespoke programmes of care and treatment for young people in FitzRoy House, which includes the Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ St Andrew’s College.

If you're interested in referring someone to one of our CAMHS wards, or if you'd like more information about our CAMHS services, admissions criteria, bed availability or the referral process, please #AskAmy by calling 0800 434 6690, or emailing her via [email protected].

Bringing CAMHS care closer to home

We understand that due to local bed availability, or a current lack of local specialist services, there may be occasions when CAMHS commissioners need to look outside of the local area for secure inpatient admissions.

To help families overcome the distance between home and care, we support our young people with the facilities and technology that they need to keep in touch with friends and family.

This includes access to free, fully furnished family sleepover accommodation, less than a five-minute walk from our CAMHS service.

Located in a peaceful residential neighbourhood, Berkeley Close (pictured) offers a fully furnished home from home, enabling family members or carers to have the benefit of being close by when visiting.

Our modern and airy environments within FitzRoy House include family visiting suites, daily living kitchens, a café, a pet courtyard, horticulture areas and tranquillity spaces - images of these can be seen in the below gallery.
