This role forms part of the HR & Payroll Services team, providing transactional advice and support to both Charity employees and managers. You will assist with the end to end processing of the in-house payroll and act as the first point of contact for all payroll related queries.
You will ensure that the appropriate checks and reconciliations take place to support effective payroll controls in line with team performance standards. You will be expected to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and will have the opportunity to support the Payroll Supervisor in the development of new processes and procedures.

Your profile
- 2-5 years Payroll expertise
- Knowledge of legal and statutory requirements in relation to pay, benefits and expenses
- Experience of customer services / query management with an understanding of how to resolve queries effectively and the ability to articulate payroll issues to senior colleagues
- Experience of working within a high volume, transactional payroll function, providing a customer centric payroll service
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- A flexible approach and a desire to work as part of a team and support the wider operational environment
- Competent use of relevant systems - ideally SAP and Allocate or other T&A system
- Excellent time management skills, ability to work to deadlines and around occasional/seasonal pressure
Duties & Responsibilities
- To provide a query resolution service to managers and employees
- To maintain payroll systems and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data
- To adhere to internal payroll procedures, whilst complying with relevant legislation
- To identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in timecard and payroll records
- To honour confidentiality of employees' pay records
- Providing monthly, annual and ad hoc reporting, including statutory reporting
- Calculating internal and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, shift allowances etc.)
- Contribute to monthly and year-end Payroll reconciliations
- Processing of employee expenses
- To work collaboratively as part of one team across HR & Payroll Services.
