The Charity

St Andrew’s Healthcare is a charity providing specialist mental healthcare services. We work in partnership with a number of NHS, voluntary, educational and research organisations to deliver a range of specialist inpatient and community mental healthcare services, education and research that helps to improve the lives of people with complex mental health needs.

What we need you to do

Reporting to the Communications Director, and support from the Senior External Communications Manager you will play a lead role in developing, distributing and converting our digital communications, in line with our overall communication objectives. Your mission will be to grow our brand and engagement within the mental health sector. You'll be responsible for creating compelling content, including filming and editing, creating social media posts and writing news articles for all our communication channels.

You will have sound editorial judgement to ensure our digital content aligns with our brand and communication messaging as well as the wider mental health sector and political landscape.

This role requires a resilient person, with a strong work ethic, who is self-motivated and enthusiastic about working with patients and people with lived experience of mental health struggles. You will ensure our social content reflects the diverse range of voices within our charity.

A natural networker, you will be able to build beneficial relationships with our internal stakeholders, patient’s staff, which will mean you can find the right stories for the right channels. These relationships will also extend to social media influencers and peers across other mental health and social care organisations.

What we expect from you

You will be a passionate self-starter with high energy levels, keen to impress and willing to work hard to get the job done. You will be politically astute, committed and must be able to demonstrate success in a similar role. You will be enthusiastic about your role and be bursting with new ideas that you will want to roll out.

You will have in depth experience of managing paid for and organic campaigns across multiple social channels and be accustomed to accessing new channels.

You will be experienced in filming content, interviewing people and using editing tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud to deliver a range of new and innovative digital content within deadlines. You will be skilled in delivering data and insight to assess and evaluate the impact of social campaigns. You will also be able to distil complex information into understandable messages for mass audiences.

Relevant employed social media and analytics experience is essential. Experience in video editing and creating video content is also essential for this role.

Travel to our other sites and events will be part of the role so a full driving licence will be required.

Our patients and your colleagues will expect you to live the St Andrew’s CARE values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence every single day

The Northampton site also has facilities such as a café, garden centre, charity shop, woodwork & ceramics workshop all staffed by patients and service users along with other facilities such as gym’s and swimming pools for patients and staff to use and all based in over 150 acres of beautiful woodland grounds (please see link below for more details).
