National Volunteering event is coming to St Andrew's Healthcare on Friday 7 June 2024

The Big Help Out is a national volunteering event which last year was supported by over 6 million people.

It encourages people and organisations to come together to lend a hand in their local communities and experience how rewarding volunteering can be, and the power it has to make a change. Supported by the /together coalition, The Big Help Out brings millions of people from across the UK to join the biggest mass volunteering event of the year.

This year, St Andrew’s Healthcare is joining The Big Help Out campaign to help raise awareness of volunteering and provide opportunities for people to experience volunteering and make a difference in their communities.

Volunteering opportunities at St Andrew's will be open to all and any organisation or individual can join in by emailing Dawn Wright, Voluntary Service Manager on

We have joined thousand of organisations which will take part this year to offer volunteering opportunities across our 160-acre hospital site in Northampton. These jobs range from helping our grounds team with weeding, tidying and planting to painting murals in patient areas. You could be assisting in our kitchens or helping patients to maintain their ward's gardens or social spaces. Whatever you do during the day, will be of great benefit to our patients.

St Andrew's Healthcare is one of the leading mental health charities in the UK. Each year, over 300 Volunteers help to give hope to people with the most complex mental health needs.

Our volunteering opportunities will be available on Friday 7 June and we would love to welcome you, your colleagues and your organisation to St Andrew’s to be a part of this national volunteering campaign. Please aim to sign up by Friday 31 May.

“Millions of people will be mobilised across the country for a weekend of social transformation and connection through the power of volunteering, across every sector and in every community of the UK.” The Big Help Out
