Birmingham patient awarded Outstanding Learner Award
Staff and learners came together to celebrate *Rob’s remarkable achievements as he received the prestigious Outstanding Learner Award from a Birmingham Adult Education College.
Representatives from the education service visited St Andrew's Healthcare Birmingham to recognise Rob’s dedication, commitment and personal growth throughout his maths studies.
The award marks an important milestone in his educational journey and highlights the progress he has made over the past year.
Receiving the award, Rob spoke proudly about what the recognition means to him.
"I feel really proud. The Outstanding Learner Award is a fantastic achievement and I'm delighted to receive it. Education has given me so much confidence and self-belief. Over the past year, I have grown enormously as a person and I am really looking forward to starting my next course."
Reflecting on his learning journey, Rob described how he overcame his initial nerves and developed both academically and socially.
"I have learned so much and developed many new skills. I was quite nervous when I first started in the classroom, but I quickly settled in with my classmates and teachers. I enjoyed being part of the group and was able to help other learners with their maths when they needed support. My confidence and social skills have grown tremendously, and I feel much more capable than I did when I started."
Rob's achievements do not stop here. In August, he will take the next exciting step in his education by enrolling on a City & Guilds Motor Vehicle Maintenance course.
Speaking about his future plans, he said: “I feel a little nervous, but I now know I can achieve my goals and I am excited about becoming a student there. I'll be learning practical car maintenance skills as well as studying the theory behind it. I attended the open evening with Andrew and Aneka and was amazed by the resources and equipment available. I can't wait to get started in August."
