Patients at St Andrew’s Healthcare on the Low Secure and Specialist Rehabilitation Division have been getting ready for the Platinum Jubilee.

Together they have painted a tribute to the Queen which will be the backdrop for a photography booth that is being set up as part of the Division’s Jubilee Party in June.

The artwork was co-produced by patients on Spencer North and Spencer South during their art sessions which were overseen by staff, who were eager to get everyone involved in the celebrations.

Alison Williams, Visual Arts Technical Instructor, said: “The painting has been in the art studio for a few weeks and has attracted a lot of attention and positive comment from staff and patients.

“I’m proud to say, this project was a real collective effort as everyone had a say. Together we had to choose the design, lettering and make it all come together – we almost ran out of the purple paint at one point, but thankfully, we had just enough. Now, it’s full focus on the party and making sure all those who come along have an amazing time.”
