St Andrew’s appoints Andy Brogan as Executive Chief Nurse

Andy Brogan has been announced as the new Executive Chief Nurse and will be joining the Charity in the Autumn.  Andy, who started out as a mental health nurse in Wales, joins us from Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust where he has been Executive Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Chief Executive for the last three years. Prior to that he’s held a number of senior roles within the NHS, including Director of Nursing and Governance at Bolton Salford and Trafford Mental Health NHS Trust.

As Executive Chief Nurse, Andy will lead our nurses and the quality function as we continue to embed consistently high standards of clinical care and effectiveness for all our patients.

Katie Fisher, CEO of St. Andrew’s said:

“I’m delighted that Andy will become our new Chief Nurse. His extensive experience in mental healthcare during a long and distinguished career with a number of NHS Trusts will be vital as we continue to focus on providing consistently high quality care for our patients and deliver our turnaround strategy."

Andy Brogan said:

“I’m really excited to be joining St Andrew’s at this important time for the charity. The nursing team has a vital role to play in the changes that are being introduced and I’m keen to get started so I can support them in caring for some of the country’s most vulnerable people.”
