A new network of organisations across Northamptonshire have joined forces with the objective of making the county a great place to live, work and visit.

The aim of the Northamptonshire Anchor Institutions Network is to work together helping to address important social and economic inequalities.

Anchor institutions and Network members will bring shared commitment and priorities together while seeking best practice, measuring impact, holding each other to account and actively committing to the following:

  • Empowering the next generation
  • Employment opportunities
  • Social value gained from local investment
  • Enhancing sustainability

This is an exciting step forward for Northamptonshire, bringing together public and private sector organisations in a new way of working towards one shared goal. Together, the Network will work towards improving the wellbeing and create strong, safe, resilient, and inclusive communities for our residents.

St Andrew’s Healthcare’s CEO Dr Vivienne McVey said: “We’re thrilled to be part of the Northamptonshire Anchor Institutions Network and are fully committed to our involvement and working with our partners in collaboration.

“We firmly believe there is strength in numbers and it makes complete sense to come together with one shared objective, which is to make our county a better place to live, work and enjoy. As a Charity within the mental health sector we are very aware how social and economic inequalities can impact individuals and communities and we relish the challenge of working with our partners to try to eradicate those issues, driving positive change and hope across Northamptonshire.”

The Network will meet regularly in person to discuss and set out actions to address their agreed priorities.

In total, there are currently 23 members including:
