Workbridge awarded £560 in the Waitrose Community Matters Scheme

The charity Workbridge have received a £560 donation from the Wootton branch of Waitrose & Partners in Northampton. This follows a successful September month of fundraising for Workbridge in the Waitrose & Partner’s Community Matters Scheme.

The £560 donation was officially handed over at the end of November and will go towards purchasing outdoor furniture for a new social area for service users attending Workbridge.

Helen Wright, Head of Workbridge said: “We’d like to thank Waitrose for inviting Workbridge to join the Community Matters Scheme. This donation means a lot to everyone who works and attends here.

Helen continued: “Workbridge is a charity that has been supporting people with developing their life and work skills for almost 40 years. We’re incredibly proud of the work we do. It’s humbling to see the amount of local support we have received in the scheme. I’d like to thank everyone for visiting Waitrose and placing your green token in our collection box”.

The Waitrose Community Matters scheme is run every month in branch and donates £1000 to three local good causes. Workbridge was included in the scheme thanks to an anonymous supporter who contacted Waitrose to put their name forward.

Diane of the Community Matters Scheme at Workbridge said: “Waitrose at Wootton are delighted to support Workbridge through our Community Matters Scheme, to help them to continue their superb work in the local community”.

“We look forward to working with Workbridge in the future."
