Dr Vivienne McVey, the CEO of St Andrew's Healthcare, pays tribute to Her Majesty the Queen in response to the news she has died, aged 96.

Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, died at Balmoral aged 96, after reigning for 70 years.

She died peacefully on Thursday afternoon at her Scottish estate, where she had spent much of the summer.

in a statement, Vivienne said: "We are truly saddened by the news that Her Majesty the Queen has died. We have lost a much-loved and highly respected public figure, who has devoted nearly all her life to serving our country.

"St Andrew’s Healthcare in Northampton is flying the Union flag at half-mast out of respect to losing our country’s longest reigning monarch.

"We would like to send our condolences to the rest of the Royal family and anyone else who may be impacted by the sad news of her death."
