Staff and patients at the St Andrew’s Essex site got sporty when the Olympics kicked off in September at their annual sports day.

Service users got to participate in the annual race which sees competitors bounding a ball on a racquet as they run towards the finish line. A penalty shoot-out also took place which was won by a former patient from Audley and Dean from Hadleigh took home the first prize for scoring three balls in a basket in the fastest time which was under 30 seconds.

Jo Robinson had a stall promoting the ‘New You’ wellness group which drummed up a lot of interest. All those who took part in the sports day received certificates to celebrate their achievements award by two players from Southend Football Club.

Aida Atkins, Adult Education Teacher, said: “Everyone got a goody-bag and had so much fun. A good day was had by all and I’d like to everyone for taking part or helping out.”
