Patient with Huntington’s Disease shares his incredible woodworking skills

RJ, a patient in our care, has an extremely rare, genetic neurodegenerative condition called Huntington’s Disease (HD). However this has not stopped him from learning and developing his woodworking skills!

We care for approximately 24 people with HD, and provide our full support and care to ensure that individuals – and their families – receive everything that they need.

Ken Ainsworth, our Vocational skills instructor, praised RJ for his determination. “RJ is one of the most determined services users that I have ever had the opportunity to help support in our woodwork workshop. Despite his condition he battles on and gives 110% in everything he does in every session”.

RJ thoroughly enjoys his time in the workshop, and values what it does for him. “I love it down there, it’s excellent. I’ve learnt so much and I want to do it more”.

RJ is an inspiration to us all, and we couldn’t be prouder of his achievements!
