Workbridge to hold free Spring craft fair

Workbridge will be hosting a free craft fair next month, featuring a variety of handcrafted items, arts and crafts, and locally produced food and drink.

The event - which runs from 10am – 4pm on 11 May - will feature over 30 stalls from local businesses, and a range of woodwork, textiles, canvas prints, plants and ceramics made by people who attend Workbridge on Bedford Road. There will also be lots of fun activities including a photo booth, an inflatable passing cage activity provided by the Northampton Saints to support their Wheelchair Rugby Programme, karaoke, and some student performances!

Workbridge provides people with mental illness, learning disabilities, autism or brain injuries the opportunity to learn and develop work and life skills through a broad range of vocational activities. The activities on offer at Workbridge encourage service users to learn independence, respect, teamwork and trust; building skills, knowledge and self-esteem in a supportive environment.

Becky Phillips, Service Manager, explained: β€œThe philosophy behind Workbridge is to provide people with an opportunity to work as part of a team, and we teach both technical and life skills, enabling our service users to see their potential in the community. At the event there will be a BBQ and mocktails, our delicious lunch menu, cakes and cream teas and beautiful summer bedding and plants available to purchase in our Garden Centre. Everyone is welcome!”

Handmade jewellery, crocheted accessories and knitwear, greetings cards, paintings, paper crafts, home accessories, sweets and preserves will also be on sale on the day, and the Workbridge coffee shop will be serving a selection of hot and cold drinks, light lunches and freshly baked treats.

The fair takes place on 11 May from 10am – 4pm. Workbridge is located on the Bedford Road, Northampton NN4 7AD. Entry is free, and there is also free parking available on site.
