St Andrew’s joins NHS Employers' programme

We are delighted to announce that St Andrew’s Healthcare has been chosen to be part of the prestigious NHS Employers’ 2018/19 Diversity and Inclusion Partners’ programme.

St Andrew’s is just one of 40 organisations across the country chosen to take part this year.

Organisations are awarded partner status after they have demonstrated that they are delivering against six measurable criteria: improving patient access and experience; empowered, engaged and well-supported staff; inclusive leadership at all levels; better health outcomes for all; demonstration of commitment to the partners programme; and benefits that the organisation will receive from taking part.

Over the next 12 months, St Andrew’s will work closely with NHS Employers to continually improve equality and diversity within the charity, while raising awareness of outcome-focused improvement. St Andrew’s will also be able to share examples of good practice with the NHS, including case studies from which others can learn.

Serita Bonsignore, HR Business Partner for Diversity and Inclusion, commented: “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to work more closely with NHS Employers and other organisations to further embed diversity across our organisation. Here at St Andrew’s we want everyone to be able to be themselves in the workplace, and feel valued and respected for the diversity they bring to our workforce.”

At St Andrew’s, equality, diversity and human rights training is given to all staff to ensure equality of opportunity, to tackle discrimination and to foster good relations between different groups of people. The charity routinely monitors workforce diversity to help us identify any imbalances and differing outcomes for groups of people.

This year's NHS Employers’ Diversity and Inclusion Partners’ programme has a wide range of organisations spread across the country including NHS England, West Midlands Fire Service and Care UK.  Access the full list of 2018/19 diversity and inclusion partners here and learn more about the programme.
