We welcome around 300 students to St Andrew's Healthcare each year from a wide range of disciplines. These might include medicine, psychology, nursing, occupational therapy or social work - but there are many opportunities outside these areas too.

We offer a wide range of clinical placements, including medium secure care, low secure care, forensic care, neuro-psychiatry and women’s specific services.

UK students:
Placement opportunities are open for students, usually though elective placements, from any UK-based universities. You should pursue the placement through your university. Please note that there may be a small fee for these placements. Please download and complete the ‘Applying from a UK Institution’ application form here.

Overseas students:
We review applications on an individual basis depending upon Consultant availability and capacity. Please complete and return the form ‘Overseas Student Application’ on this page.
