Ward Manager Danbury

Location: Basildon, Essex

Salary: £49,521 - £55,080 per annum, pro rata (depending on experience)

12 month fixed term contract

You will either be a qualified nurse or hold a clinical professional qualification within a multi-disciplinary profession and will lead a team of nursing and MDT staff to ensure clinical excellence and outstanding care are delivered at all times. 

You will lead by example and inspire those around you to provide exceptional care and operational and clinical excellence on the ward. As part of the management team, you will work with colleagues and senior leaders to lead your team and achieve CQC outstanding.

So what is the role?

As a Ward Manager you will have managerial and operational responsibility for your ward and will ensure mechanisms are in place to support, develop and monitor all aspects of performance.  You will be key to ensuring the delivery of operational excellence and pivotal to the delivery of high levels of nursing and care by providing day-to-day support and operational leadership.  You will proactively monitor standards and lead innovative processes to improve quality and the operational management of your ward.

As a positive and strong leader, you will set a clear and compelling vision for your team, you will be a visible presence who influences and supports consistently great teamwork and a positive culture.  You will lead by example and motivate your teams to provide exceptional levels of care to your patients.  As an enthusiastic and positive change agent, your dedication, professionalism and communication skills will inspire others to also go the extra mile and display high levels of performance in even the most challenging situations.

The Essex Site

At our site in North Benfleet, Essex, we aim to develop a clear set of transitional steps through our Division to enable our patients to be supported in their progress. We believe all patients should be treated with dignity and respect and cared for in the most suitable and least restrictive environment to address their clinical needs and risks.  We care for men and women aged 18 years and over with complex mental health needs in a low-security and locked environment.

We want to encourage mental health self-management and prepare each individual to live safely and confidently on their own. Our excellent local links enable involvement in community-based activities, including voluntary placements, as part of their recovery.

Service users are encouraged to take part in adult education programs or vocational opportunities, including work experience. Their overall health is important, and among a range of occupational therapy we offer yoga and relaxation, art and drama, sports and exercise in our on-site facilities, including gardens and a cafe.
