A top businessman and IT entrepreneur has joined the St Andrew’s Healthcare Board as a Non-Executive Director (NED).

Rupert Perry has been a Governor of St Andrew’s since 2017 and was recently appointed as a Board Member and Trustee.

Prior to his most recent appointment, Rupert held the Lead Governor position where he worked closely with our Chair and CEO. Additionally, Rupert attends St Andrew’s Investment Committee, the IT Committee, and holds the role of Deputy Chair of the Pension Trustees.

Rupert, who is a qualified Chartered Accountant, brings extensive experience to his roles at St Andrew’s. In 2000 he combined his IT and finance skills and set up a fintech company, Pirum, which focusses on automating operational processes in the global securities finance markets.

Rupert served as the company’s Chief Executive until 2014, and he remains involved with Pirum as both a Management Consultant and Non-Executive Director.

The new appointment follows the departure of Stuart Richmond-Watson, who recently retired after 18 years of being on the Board.

The St Andrew’s Board is a unitary body, which was established in 2004. It is comprised of NEDs and executive directors who are employed by the Charity.

The Board is responsible for setting and delivering the Charity’s strategy and supervising the management of St Andrew’s Healthcare, ensuring it complies with its legal and regulatory obligations.
